Frye Regional Medical Center Receives Award for Employment Practices

Hickory, NC - Frye Regional Medical Center has been recognized by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR), for their continued commitment to fair employment practices with regards to military personnel in the National Guard and Reservists.

The ESGR is a division of the Department of Defense.  Every U.S. state and territory has an ESGR committee.  North Carolina’s chapter has 110 volunteers who give their time to assist employers and military personnel through teaching, support, and mediation.

The award’s proclamation reiterates Frye’s commitment to its employees serving in the armed forces. “We confirm that we abide by the USERA law.  Plus, we go far beyond that to help citizen soldiers and their families.  We have signed this to let the world know that we are morally responsible as well as legally responsible for our employees who are serving our country.” The award is on display at Frye.

“North Carolina has the most patriotic employers in the U.S.  The way we look at it, we feel we have an obligation to these people because they are our brothers and sisters in the community,” said Bud L. Brown, State Chairman of the North Carolina ESGR Committee.
