Hickory, NC – Frye Regional Medical Center will host the 4th Annual Bronnenberg Women’s Symposium, “Through the Looking Glass” on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from 8am to 4pm at the Holiday Inn Select in Hickory.
The Bronnenberg Symposium was developed in memory of the first gynecologist in Hickory, Dr. Neel Bronnenberg, as a way to educate practitioners on the numerous issues facing women’s health issues and women’s health needs. The 2006 “Through the Looking Glass” will feature the following speakers and topics: Women and Heart Disease presented by Richard D. Schultz, MD; Repetitive Pregnancy Loss: Frustrating Fertility presented by Nancy Teaff, MD; Domestic Violence, presented by Laurie George, MA and Robert George, Master Police Officer; Opioid Addiction in Pregnancy and the Use of Methadone, presented by Jana Burson, MD; and Taking Women’s Health to Heart, presented by Donna Anthony, RN, Darlene Richard, RN, and Rhonda Sawyer, RN.
The Bronnenberg Symposium is jointly sponsored by Wake Forest School of Medicine and Frye Regional Medical Center’s Women’s Pavilion and Surgical Services.
The Wake Forest University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category I Credits.
Frye Regional Medical Center is an Approved Provider of continuing nursing education by the N.C. Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This offering has been approved for 6.6 contact hours for nurses.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has assigned 6 cognate credits to this program.
