Kammer Named Vice President of Frye Regional Medical Center
 
 
 

Hickory, NC – Carol Kammer has been named Vice President of Frye Regional Medical Center, effective Wednesday May 18.

For the last 15 years, Kammer has served as administrative director of Frye’s physical and occupational therapy departments as well as the Frye-owned Unifour Pain Treatment Center.  She has also played an active role in the hospital’s Target 100 patient satisfaction program since its inception. Her career in healthcare spans over 25 years, as both a caregiver and a healthcare executive. She has been with Frye since 1990.

 In her new role, Kammer will continue to oversee therapy and the pain center, but will also assume responsibility for the hospital’s food and nutritional services and environmental services departments; Oakwood Place, Frye’s outpatient substance abuse treatment facility; and Frye’s Alexander Campus hospital in Taylorsville. 

Kammer received her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Towson State University in Maryland in 1980.

“Carol has a proven track record of performance,” said Frye chief operating officer Craig Hume. “I have been very impressed with her strong and capable leadership.”

Frye Regional Medical Center is a 355-bed acute care facility located at 420 North Center Street in Hickory, NC.  The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of Catawba County since 1911.  The hospital’s main campus includes a comprehensive heart center and cardiac rehab, orthopedics, bariatric surgery, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, pediatrics, center for neurosciences, cancer center and women’s pavilion.  Frye has several extended campuses to serve families throughout the area including: Wellness and Education Center which houses the Center For Diabetes Self-Management Care, perinatal education and community wellness classes; South Campus for psychiatric services; Viewmont and Tate Surgery Centers; Vein and Wound Center/Infusion Care; Pain Center; Piedmont Therapy, offering sports and industrial rehabilitation; an urgent care facility; FryeCare, an outpatient diagnostic facility; Alexander Campus, which provides 24 hour emergency care along with diagnostic and laboratory services and infusion care; plus HealthPoint, which provides extensive industrial services and programs to employers.
