Hickory, NC – Frye Regional Medical Center and the Tenet Healthcare Foundation have awarded a $2,500 grant to the Catawba County Humane Society. The grant, designated to support a traveling education exhibit, was presented to Humane Society Executive Director Jane Earnest on November 1.
“We are truly grateful to Frye and the Foundation for their generosity,” said Earnest. “This donation will help us in our efforts to educate the community on the importance of spay and neuter clinics and the proper care and treatment of animals.”
The Humane Society of Catawba County depends on donations and grants in order to rescue, care, spay/neuter, vaccinate and adopt out nearly 1000 homeless animals a year. The mission of the Humane Society of Catawba County is to make our community a better place by serving as an advocate for companion animals.

Endowed by Tenet, the Foundation, along with Frye Regional Medical Center, directs grants to help healthcare needs in the communities served by facilities owned by Tenet hospitals. The Foundation also provides grants to various educational, social services, civic and humanities–supporting organizations nationwide.
Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Tenet North Carolina, is a 355-bed acute care facility located at 420 North Center Street in Hickory, NC. The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of Catawba County since 1911.
