Hickory, NC – Frye Regional Medical Center is inviting former patients of the Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery (NICU) along with their families, the staff and physicians of Frye Regional Medical Center, for a special celebration in the hospital’s Heart Tower Lobby on March 22 at 5:30pm. Two very special events, an essay contest and a Wall of Fame, are planned for the evening. Frye invites families whose lives were touched by the NICU to submit an essay, 300 words or less, on what Frye’s Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery and/or Neonatal Transport Team has meant to them. The winner will be announced the night of the event and a donation will be made in honor of the winner to the March of Dimes. The winner will also be recognized at this year’s March of Dimes Walk America in Catawba County. Please email entries along with a photo to NICUEssaycontest@fryeregional.com, or fax to 828-315-5909. Entries must be received by March 16. All children who were patients of the NICU will be invited to put their handprints on a large art canvas at the celebration. The canvas will be displayed in the Nursery. Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Tenet North Carolina, is a 355-bed acute care facility located at 420 North Center Street in Hickory, NC.
