Hickory, NC – Frye Regional Medical Center and the Tenet Healthcare Foundation have awarded a $5000 grant to the Council on Adolescents of Catawba County, Inc. The grant, designated to support programs that promote wellness for youth, was presented to Director JoAnn Spees on October 7.
“We are extremely grateful to Frye and the Tenet Healthcare Foundation for their generous donation,” Spees said. “This gift will allow us to continue to provide much needed services to the youth of our community.”
The Council on Adolescents provides education programming aimed at preventing adolescent pregnancy, as well as tobacco, drug and substance use. Programs are available to parents of adolescents as well. For more information, call 828-322-4591.
Endowed by Tenet, the Foundation, along with Frye Regional Medical Center, directs grants to help healthcare needs in the communities served by facilities owned by Tenet hospitals. The Foundation also provides grants to various educational, social services, civic and humanities-supporting organizations nationwide.
