Knox R. Tate, MD, Joins Medical Staff of Frye Regional Medical Center
 
 
 

Hickory, NC - - Frye Regional Medical Center welcomes radiologist, Knox R. Tate, MD to its medical staff. 

Dr. Tate received his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1999.  During his academic career, he was awarded a medical degree with distinction for superior academic performance and served as chief resident in 2003. Dr. Tate completed his residency at Emory University Hospital and completed his fellowship in Neuroradiology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Tate is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.  He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America and the American Roentgen Ray Society.

“It’s great to be back in North Carolina serving the Hickory community alongside such a skilled staff of physicians. I’m looking forward to serving this community for a long time to come,” said Dr. Tate.

Frye Regional Medical Center is a 355-bed acute care facility located at 420 North Center Street in Hickory, NC.  The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of Catawba County since 1911.  The hospital’s main campus includes a comprehensive heart center and cardiopulmonary rehab, skilled nursing unit, orthopedics, bariatric surgery, inpatient rehabilitation unit, outpatient rehabilitation services, pediatrics, center for neurosciences, cancer center and women’s pavilion.  Frye has several extended campuses to serve families throughout the area including: Frye Wellness and Education Center which houses the Center For Diabetes Self-Management Care, perinatal education and community wellness classes; South Campus for psychiatric services; Viewmont and Tate Surgery Centers; Vein and Wound Center/Infusion Care; Pain Center; Piedmont Therapy, offering sports and industrial rehabilitation; an urgent care facility; FryeCare, an outpatient diagnostic facility; Alexander Campus, which provides 24 hour emergency care along with diagnostic and laboratory services and infusion care; plus HealthPoint, which provides extensive industrial services and programs to employers.
