Hickory, NC - - While most hospitals celebrate Doctor’s Day on March 30th , Frye Regional Medical Center chose to recognize all members of the medical staff on what they call Medical Staff Appreciation Day. On that day, the Physician Satisfaction Team recognized physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants by serving a breakfast and lunch in their honor and presenting them with a boutonniere of spring flowers.
The team also created a fun game called “Did You Know” designed to encourage members of the medical staff to get to know each other better. The medical staff members that matched the highest number of their colleagues with their favorite hobbies were awarded pizza parties for their office staffs. Winners included Peter Bradshaw, MD, General Surgery, Mark Faruque, MD, Family Practice, Chris Hunt, MD, Anesthesiology, and Frank Wright, MD, Gastroenterology. Additional prizes, including lovely floral photographs were distributed after the event to those medical staff members that were chosen from a drawing that was conducted during the event.
“The Physician Satisfaction Team looks forward to recognizing its physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants every year on Medical Staff Appreciation Day,” said Jamie Smith, Vice President and Chairman of the Physician Satisfaction Team. “It’s a great opportunity to let them know that their outstanding contributions to our hospital do not go unnoticed,” added Smith.
