John A. Morrison, MD, Joins Medical Staff of Frye Regional Medical Center
 
 
 

Hickory, NC - - Frye Regional Medical Center welcomes cardiologist, John A. Morrison, MD, to its medical staff. 

Dr. Morrison is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Wingate College where he received several awards including the Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award and the Biology Faculty Award for Excellence in Biology. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill and was elected into membership of the John B. Graham Research Society.

Dr. Morrison completed his residency in internal medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he received the E. Thomas Marshburn, Jr., MD Award in 2000 and served as chief resident from July 2000 to June 2001. 

Following his residency, Dr. Morrison completed a Cardiovascular Fellowship Training Program at SUNY Upstate Medical University and an Interventional / Peripheral Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at Baystate Medical Center.

Dr. Morrison is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association.
