Hickory, NC – Steve Barr, RN, has joined Frye Regional Medical Center as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer. Barr most recently worked as Interim Chief Nursing Officer at Kenner Regional Medical Center in New Orleans. Prior to that, Barr spent eight years at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center as Vice President of Development.
As Assistant CNO, Barr plans to expand his knowledge of the daily and long term operations of a large hospital nursing services department. He also enthusiastically looks forward to having a hands-on opportunity to participate in day-to-day operations, new program development, and problem solving activities that are instrumental in running a nursing department.
Suzanne Bird, Frye Regional Medical Center’s Chief Nursing Officer, is excited to have Barr on board. “Steve is a valuable addition to the Frye family; we are fortunate to have the opportunity to utilize Steve’s skills and education in our daily procedures,” states Bird.
Barr holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Indiana University.
