| Frye Heart Center Presents Ready Set Red -Event to Raise Awareness of Heart Disease in Women- |

Hickory, NC – The Frye Heart Center will host Ready Set Red, What Your Heart is Trying to Tell You on Friday, February 3, 2006, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hickory Metro Convention Center.
The local event coincides with the American Heart Association’s national Go Red for Women Day, designed to be a call to all women to take charge of their health, as well as recognize and reduce their risk for heart disease.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Nieca Goldberg, MD, a cardiologist and author who is chief of women’s cardiac care at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Her most recent book, “The Woman’s Healthy Heart Program: Lifesaving Strategies for Preventing and Healing Heart Disease” is due out late January 2006. |

In addition to Dr. Goldberg, special guests will present their stories of survival. WBTV News Anchor Molly Grantham will serve as emcee and Sheri Lynch, nationally syndicated radio personality of the Bob & Sheri Show on 107.9 the LINK, will serve as facilitator of the questions and answer session.
Panelists for the questions and answer session will be Frye staff physicians Nicholas Frankel, MD, radiologist; Vincent Patrone, MD, cardiologist; Cemil Purut MD, cardiovascular surgeon; and Brian Steg, MD, cardiologist. Anita Montes, MD, obstetrician/gynecologist, will serve as the panel moderator. |
