March 6, 2006

Hickory, NC - - Frye Regional Medical Center would like to congratulate Wheaton J. Williams, MD, infectious disease specialist on staff at Frye, for receiving a Spot the Doc Award.

The Spot the Doc Program is an internal recognition program created to enable nurses to recognize physicians that go above and beyond the call of duty in caring for their patients.

Nurses nominate physicians based on their consistent exemplification of the 12 standards, including attitude, communication, teamwork and integrity.

Nursing leadership then reviews all the physicians nominated to determine the winners. Each winner is awarded a plaque by the Administrative Director responsible for that area.

“It’s great to be recognized by the nursing staff in this manner,” said Dr. Williams.
