 |  | | Cindy Miller, BSN, RNC | | | | Frye Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Cindy Miller, BSN, RNC, has been awarded the Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) credential through the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board. Cindy has been employed at Frye for 9 years at the Vein and Wound Center, where she currently serves as the Clinic Director. She has been certified as a Community Health Nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 1990, and a Certified Wound Specialist through the Academy of Wound Management since 1999. To achieve Wound Care Nurse Certification the applicant must be currently licensed as an RN and hold a Baccalaureate degree, complete 50 hours in wound care continuing education programs to remain current on the latest techniques and products, complete 1,500 clinical hours and successfully pass the examination. Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Tenet North Carolina, is a 355-bed acute care facility located at 420 North Center Street in Hickory. The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of Catawba County since 1911. The hospital’s main campus includes a comprehensive heart center and cardiopulmonary rehab, orthopedics, bariatric surgery, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, restorative care unit, pediatrics, center for neurosciences, cancer center and women’s pavilion.
