Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a procedure in which veins are injected with a sclerosing solution, which causes the spider veins to collapse and fade from view. Sclerotherapy may also remedy the bothersome symptoms associated with spider veins, including aching, burning, swelling and night cramps.
Laser Treatment
Laser technology is available to treat tiny spider veins on the legs, nose, chin, and other areas of the face. The Vein and Wound Center’s 1064nm laser is designed to work on most skin types. The laser is delivered through an actively cooled hand piece that glides across the skin as pulses of light are delivered to the area being treated.
Surgical Treatment for Varicose Veins
Frye’s Vein and Wound Center offers the advanced technology of illuminated powered phlebectomy, or vein removal, to treat larger varicose veins that may cause pain and aching and may be cosmetically unappealing.
Performed by a vascular surgeon in one of Frye’s Outpatient Surgery Center’s, the vein removal procedure is performed by inserting an illumination device through a small incision near the affected area, highlighting the targeted veins. A device to remove the damaged vein is then inserted through a second small incision. The technology of illuminated powered phlebectomy may allow the surgeon to make fewer incisions than traditional methods of vein removal.
