The area provides an array of outdoor activities for the year-round sports enthusiast, including fishing, skiing, mountain climbing, and golf. Boone is the home of Appalachian State University which provides both cultural and educational programs for area residents and visitors. The Boone/Blowing Rock communities feature boutique shopping, great restaurants and recreational activities. It is a favorite resort destination. Live and work in this mountain playground.
