Hickory, NC – The American Alliance of Healthcare Providers (AAHCP) has named Frye Regional Medical Center a 2006 Hospital of Choice Award Winner. This year marks the third year in a row Frye has received this distinction. The announcement was made on March 24, 2006, by R. Vincent Parr, President of the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers.

The AAHCP Choice Awards are uniquely designed to find America's most consumer-friendly hospitals. The selections were based on superior performance in at least one area of consumer concerns.  Areas of consideration include: Patient Satisfaction, Code of Professional Ethics, Standards of Conduct, Patient's Bill of Rights, Performance Management and Improvement, Staff Development and Training, Systems of Communication, and Educational and Promotional Material provided to consumers.

“This year's winners are a unique blend of small and large hospitals that took extraordinary steps to express their commitment to service excellence,” Parr said.

“We are truly honored to receive this recognition,” said Frye President and CEO Denny Bruns. “For the third year in a row, we have once again demonstrated our commitment to providing quality healthcare to our community.”
