On Wednesday, March 25, U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Tom Hunsucker presented a special gift to the employees of Frye Regional Medical Center in appreciation of the hospital’s support during his recent deployment to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Hunsucker, a 26-year Air Force veteran and a member of Frye’s Engineering team for 14 years, was responsible for supporting the military commission’s complex by maintaining the heating ventilation systems. While he was stationed at the base, the American flag was flown in honor of Frye Regional Medical Center and their support of Tom during his service. The framed flag and certificate was accepted on the hospital’s behalf by Frye’s CEO Michael Blackburn.

“It was an honor to support Tom and his family during his military service, and we thank him, and all of our veterans, for their commitment and selfless dedication to our country,” said Blackburn.

“I am proud to present this flag to my fellow employees as a “thank you” for all of their thoughts and prayers during my six months at Guantanamo Bay,” said Hunsucker.
