BETTER HEALTH

Blade Youth Fitness Program
Eight-week program designed to help children ages 10 to 18 fight obesity. For more information, call 315-3186.

Diabetes–Insulin Pump Training

Metabolic Syndrome
For people with three of these five criteria: elevated fasting glucose, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, low “good” HDL cholesterol, or a waist circumference greater than 40 inches for men or greater than 35 inches for women. Call 322-6699 to register.

Diabetes–Comprehensive Training
Incorporates an interdisciplinary approach to teaching diabetes management. Instructors include a registered nurse, registered dietitian, exercise physiologist, pharmacist and behaviorist. For more information, call 322-6699.

Freshstart 2009
Frye Regional Medical Center is offering Freshstart, the American Cancer Society's quit smoking program, as a free service to its patients and the general public. Developed by the American Cancer Society, this class helps empower participants to begin their journey to a tobacco-free life and covers issues such as weight control and coping strategies to help fight the urge to smoke.
