Laser Hair Removal

The Vein and Wound Center’s 1064nm laser is designed to reduce hair growth permanently. The laser can also treat many skin types, including tanned and darker skin.

How does the laser work?

The laser is delivered through an actively cooled hand piece which glides across the skin. Energy from the laser is passed through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. The heat from the laser disables hair follicles which impairs growth.

How many treatments will I need?

You should keep in mind that three or four treatments, six to eight weeks apart, may be needed to achieve a meaningful reduction in the amount of hair on your legs (or elsewhere). After that, you'll need to wait a year to see the full effect of the treatment (hair growth cycles are about six months long, so it's best to wait through two growth cycles to see the final results.

What areas can be treated with the laser?

The Vein and Wound Center’s 1064nm laser system may permanently reduce hair growth on many parts of the body, including:

• Underarms

Bikini line

• Legs

• Chest

• Back and Shoulders

• Abdomen

Laser hair reduction services may help you save time while getting ready for your day and may be a cost-effective alternative to shaving, waxing, or using creams.
