Since 1980, The Center for Neurosciences at Frye Regional Medical Center has provided quality in caring for patients with injuries and illnesses relating to the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Some of these include:

*Stroke management/thrombolytic stroke therapy
*Head Injury
*Brain tumor, cerebral aneurysm, A-V malformation surgery
*Cervical and lumbar disk surgery
*Carotid endarterectomy
*Nerve entrapment surgeries
*Industrial spine/back injuries
*Rhizotomy (including trigeminal neuralgia)
*Intrathecal pumps for pain and spasticity management

The Treatment Team

A skilled team coordinates each patient's care from admission through discharge. Members of the team include:

*Board Certified Neurologists
*Board Certified Neurosurgeons
*Pediatric Neurologist
*Neurodiologist
*Qualified Nursing Staff
*Licensed Therapists

The Center for Neurosciences at Frye provides a team of specially trained staff members to address the needs of patients with brain, spinal cord and nerve disorders. This care is provided on the following units in our continuum of care:

Neuro Intensive Care Unit

An eight-bed care unit for major trauma, neurological or neurosurgical patients.

Neuro Progressive Care Unit

A fourteen-bed acute care unit for stabilized neurologic care.

Neuro-Ortho Unit

A thirty-eight bed unit for patients who have advanced beyond progressive care needs.

Restorative Care Unit

A 17 bed Skilled Nursing Unit for patients who no longer meet acute care criteria but continue to have a skilled nursing need.

Rehabilitation Center

A 29 bed, CARF-accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Center is conveniently located within the hospital.

Support Services

Frye Regional Medical Center provides a final link in the hospital's continuum of care with the following Outpatient services:

*Outpatient Therapy services
*Frye Home Health
*Frye Durable Medical Equipment
*Coordinated Outpatient Services (COPS)
