Specialized clinical nurses at the Infusion Care Center provide a wide variety of services related to intravenous treatments, including:

  • Administration of Intravenous Therapies Traditionally provided in Hospital or Home settings
  • IV Catheter Care 
  • Migraine Therapy
  • Pharmacist-managed Pharmacokinetic Dosing
  • Monitoring of First Dose Medications
  • Patient Education
  • Coordination of Patient Insurance Benefits
  • Pharmacist Dosage Adjustments and Monitoring

Who May Benefit From Infusion Therapy?

Patients with infections that have not responded to oral antibiotics or those with gastrointestinal diseases or disorders that prevent normal functioning of the gastrointestinal system can be treated with infusion therapy. Other conditions that can benefit from infusion therapy include cancer and cancer-related pain, congestive heart failure, Crohn’s Disease, hemophilia, immune deficiencies, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and more.

Drug classes administered at the Infusion Center include:

  • Antibiotics including Vancomycin, Gentamicin and Levoquin
  • Chemotherapy including Cisplatin, Carboplatin and Adriamycin
  • Osteoporosis Agents including Reclast, Boniva and Proleia
  • Hydration Therapy
  • Antivirals
  • Antifungals including Diflucan, Cancidas
  • Immune Globulin
  • Blood Products
  • Steroids including SoluMedrol
  • Hematopoetic agents including Procrit, Aranesp, Neupogen and Neulasta
  • Monoclonoal Antibody Therapy including Remincade, Rituxan and Tysabri
  • Enzyme Replacement including Fabrazyme and Prolastin
  • Tysabri for Multiple Sclerosis treatment
