Frye Regional Medical Center Hosts 2025 Eastern Division Patient Experience Summit

June 13, 2025

Frye Regional Medical Center, A Duke LifePoint Hospital, hosts the 2025 Eastern Division Patient Experience Summit, emphasizing the importance of quality care for all patients. This event provides a detailed discussion about the challenges and barriers of providing exceptional patient experiences and how to overcome them as a comprehensive team.

The PX Summit provides an excellent opportunity for current and upcoming nursing leaders to develop new skills and practices to take with them as they return to their respective hospitals. CNO’s and SNO’s participated with interactive workshops like role-play-based training sessions, bedside shift report escape rooms, and leader rounding checkoffs. Each workshop had a Hospital Support Center (HSC) expert that provided tips and coaching to strengthen and improve patient care processes. The workshops then facilitated in-depth conversations that included success stories and identified opportunities for improvement.

The patient experience is the cornerstone of exceptional care, especially when navigating the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives. It’s not just about delivering medical treatment; it’s about fostering meaningful connections that transform our patients’ healthcare journey into one filled with hope and dignity. Cultivating the skills and traits that enable us to truly connect with patients – understanding their fears, offering genuine empathy, and providing unwavering support – is fundamental. By doing so, we create a profoundly supportive environment where patients feel seen, heard and cared for. This deeply human approach to healthcare is what truly defines the level of care we’re committed to providing.
