Frye Regional Medical Center Expands Behavioral Health Services
July 09, 2025
Frye Regional Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint facility, is expanding its behavioral health services with the addition of six new inpatient beds in its Behavioral Health unit. This expansion reflects the hospital’s continued dedication to addressing the growing mental health needs of North Carolina.
With this enhancement, Frye Regional increases its inpatient behavioral health capacity to 77 adult beds, allowing the hospital to provide care for more individuals aged 18 or older through medication management and evidence-based individual and group therapy to align with each patient’s individualized plan of care. The Behavioral Health unit provides 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and clinical support for a wide range of mental health and substance abuse disorders. As the need for behavioral health services continues to rise locally and nationwide, these additional beds will help meet the growing demand and expand access to timely care.
“We are committed to providing high-quality behavioral health services close to home,” said Philip Greene, MD, chief executive officer of Frye Regional Medical Center. “This expansion reflects our commitment to enhancing access and capacity for those in need of these vital services. By investing in our Behavioral Health unit, we are creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals can begin their journey toward recovery with dignity and specialized care.”
Frye Regional’s Behavioral Health unit offers a multidisciplinary approach to inpatient care, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management and both individual and evidence-based group therapy. The unit is staffed by a team of licensed, compassionate medical and clinical providers dedicated to fostering a safe and healing environment.
