New Imaging Center in Lenoir to open early 2026.
Frye Regional Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint hospital, is expanding its reach into Caldwell County with the addition of Frye Regional Imaging Center - Lenoir, bringing advanced diagnostic services closer to home for area residents.
Located within Frye Regional HealthPark at 1041 Morganton Blvd. SW in Lenoir, the Imaging Center will offer patients access to MRI, CT, mammography, DEXA, ultrasound and X-ray services. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026. With an investment of $3.5 million, Frye Regional is strengthening access to advanced imaging technology and supporting the long-term health needs of Caldwell County residents.
“Expanding access to care is a key priority at Frye Regional,” said Philip Greene, MD, chief executive officer of Frye Regional Medical Center. “The imaging center reflects our continued commitment to providing high-quality, convenient services in Caldwell County and surrounding communities.”
Expanding imaging capabilities close to home
This project marks an important milestone for Frye Regional HealthPark, which has served Caldwell County since 2022, and reflects the health system’s ongoing investment in expanding access to care across the region.
The center will feature sophisticated diagnostic technology – including high-resolution MRI that produces detailed images of soft tissue, ligaments, tendons and organs, as well as advanced CT scans that capture structural images of the body. Ultrasound and digital X-ray services will also provide patients with noninvasive, timely diagnostic options.
Elevated women’s imaging experience
As part of this expansion, the center will introduce the GE Senographe Pristina™ 3D mammography system – engineered to enhance clinical accuracy while redefining patient comfort throughout the breast care journey. Pristina™ delivers exceptional diagnostic clarity at the same low radiation dose as standard 2D mammography, the lowest patient dose of all FDA-approved 3D systems.
To further reduce anxiety during breast exams, patients will have access to Pristina Dueta™, the first patient-assisted compression device in mammography. This handheld option empowers women to adjust compression to a comfortable level, offering a more personalized and reassuring screening experience.
The center will also feature the GE Lunar iDXA, one of the most advanced DXA technologies available, providing research-grade precision and high-resolution imaging for bone density and body composition assessment. In addition, high-quality ultrasound technology will support comprehensive general, vascular, OB/GYN and structural imaging services.
Strengthening community-based care
Frye Regional HealthPark offers coordinated outpatient care in a 25,000-square-foot, single-story facility providing a wide range of specialty services, including cardiology, family medicine, orthopedics, pain management and women’s health.
The campus also includes Frye Regional Piedmont Therapy, offering occupational, physical and speech therapy. The therapy team specializes in orthopedic and sports injuries, neurological and vestibular disorders, lymphedema, Parkinson’s disease (LSVT BIG therapy) and dry needling services.
Convenience and coordinated care
Caldwell County residents will benefit from same-day appointments, walk-in availability and coordinated care between imaging specialists and referring physicians.
“We don’t want anyone to delay essential imaging services,” said Dr. Greene. “When it comes to your care, every moment counts – and we’re committed to providing timely access to care close to home.”
