Frye Regional Medical Center Names Lindy White Chief Executive Officer

February 24, 2026

Frye Regional Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint hospital, announced the appointment of Lindy White as chief executive officer, effective February 26.

White returns to Frye Regional, where she previously served as chief operating officer. Most recently, she served as interim CEO at another Duke LifePoint hospital in eastern North Carolina, where she supported operational and quality initiatives and strengthened leadership alignment and physician engagement during a period of transition.

Her return comes at a time of continued growth and achievement for Frye Regional. In 2025, the organization was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a High Performing Hospital for Pacemaker Implantation and earned multiple American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® awards for cardiovascular care. The hospital also received eight Healthgrades clinical quality distinctions and maintains key accreditations, including designation as a Primary Stroke Center and advanced heart failure accreditation. During the same year, Frye Regional completed renovation of its Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, expanding recovery services and strengthening coordinated care for patients.

“Lindy is a steady, experienced leader who understands Frye Regional, the medical staff and the Hickory community,” said Elmer Polite, eastern division president for Lifepoint Health. “She knows this hospital well and brings a practical, collaborative approach to leadership that supports both our team members and our patients.”

During her previous tenure at Frye Regional, White played a key role in advancing operational performance and strengthening service lines. She has a strong record of partnering with physicians, investing in team development and fostering a culture centered on collaboration and patient-centered care.

“I am honored to return to Frye Regional Medical Center,” said White. “This organization has a proud history of serving the Hickory community, and I believe strongly in the strength of our physicians, employees and leadership team. Together, we will continue advancing quality, expanding access to care and investing in the programs that matter most to our patients.”

White succeeds Philip Greene, MD, who recently announced his decision to step down as CEO.
