Frye Regional Celebrates Second Annual RN Signing Day

Frye Regional Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint hospital, celebrated its second annual RN Signing Day, welcoming a new cohort of registered nurse graduates as they officially began their nursing careers with the hospital.

The celebration recognized 19 newly licensed registered nurses who will begin caring for patients across multiple clinical specialties throughout the hospital.

Inspired by the tradition of collegiate athletic signing days, Frye Regional’s annual RN Signing Day recognizes each graduate’s decision to launch their nursing career with the organization. Similar to student-athletes celebrating where they will continue their academic and athletic journeys, each new nurse was recognized for choosing Frye Regional as the place to begin their professional career. Nursing leaders, mentors and teammates gathered to cheer on the graduates as they received commemorative certificates recognizing their commitment to Frye Regional and were officially welcomed to the team.

“Choosing where to begin your nursing career is one of the most important decisions a new graduate will make,” said Chief Nursing Officer Jacklynn Lesniak, DNP, MS, RN, NEA-BC. “We are honored these talented graduates chose Frye Regional. Through mentorship, education and hands-on experience, we are committed to helping them build rewarding careers while delivering exceptional care to our patients.”

The newest registered nurses represent nursing programs throughout the region and will begin caring for patients in departments across the hospital, including medical-surgical, critical care, emergency services, labor and delivery and other specialty areas.

Each graduate will participate in Frye Regional’s evidence-based nurse residency program, a comprehensive transition-to-practice program designed to support newly licensed registered nurses during their first year. The program combines clinical mentorship, classroom education, simulation training and peer support to help nurses build confidence, strengthen critical thinking skills and successfully transition into professional practice.
