Frye Regional Hosts Community Blood Drive
August 20, 2026
Frye Regional Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint hospital, is inviting community members to roll up their sleeves and help save lives by participating in an upcoming blood drive. The event supports efforts to maintain a stable blood supply and reflects Frye Regional’s commitment to the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
The blood drive will be held Thursday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Frye Regional Heart Tower Lobby in partnership with the American Red Cross.
Blood donations are a critical part of patient care. Donated blood may be needed for patients undergoing surgery, receiving cancer treatment, recovering from serious injuries or managing other medical conditions. Because blood cannot be manufactured, hospitals and patients depend on volunteer donors to help maintain an adequate supply.
“Every blood donation represents an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for someone who needs lifesaving care,” said Michael Register, director of clinical laboratory services at Frye Regional Medical Center. “Blood donations are essential to maintaining a stable blood supply and supporting patients who depend on these lifesaving resources. We encourage eligible donors throughout our community to make an appointment or stop by to help ensure blood is available when patients need it most.”
To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 800.733.2767 or use the Red Cross blood donor app. All donors will receive a $20 Amazon.com e-gift card.
