Give the Gift of Life This Holiday Season at Frye Regional Blood Drive
October 26, 2026
Frye Regional Medical Center, a Duke LifePoint hospital, is inviting community members to roll up their sleeves and donate blood during an upcoming community blood drive. The event will help support a stable blood supply while reflecting Frye Regional’s commitment to the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
The blood drive will be held Wednesday, December 9, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Frye Regional Heart Tower Lobby in partnership with the American Red Cross.
Blood donations are a vital part of patient care. Donated blood may be needed for surgeries, cancer treatments, traumatic injuries and other medical conditions. Because blood cannot be manufactured, hospitals rely on volunteer donors to help maintain an adequate supply for patients in need.
“During the holiday season, one of the most meaningful gifts you can give is a blood donation,” said Michael Register, director of clinical laboratory services at Frye Regional Medical Center. “The need for blood does not pause during the holidays, and patients depend on a reliable supply every day. We encourage our community to join us in helping ensure this lifesaving resource is available when it is needed most.”
To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 800.733.2767 or use the Red Cross blood donor app. All donors will receive a $20 e-gift card to the merchant of their choice.
