A First Mother’s Day to Remember
As Bryanna Dula prepares to celebrate her first Mother’s Day, she reflects on the moment her life changed forever – welcoming her son, Brock.
“From the very beginning, my experience at Frye Regional was amazing,” Bryanna shares. “I truly don’t think I could have chosen a better hospital.”
During labor, Bryanna felt fully supported by her care team. “My nurse never left my side when I was in labor and starting to push. Every time I needed something, she was there. She was incredible.”
Bryanna describes every member of her care team as kind, encouraging and attentive. “They made me feel comfortable and supported – and they helped my husband, Landon, feel at ease too. That meant everything to us.”
After Brock was born, that same level of care continued. “His nurses and doctors were wonderful. They checked on him often and made sure we felt confident as new parents. Even in the middle of the night, they encouraged us to ask for help.”
Like many new parents, Bryanna and her husband faced an unexpected challenge when Brock developed jaundice and needed to stay for a few extra days.
“As a first-time mom, it was scary,” she admits. “We leaned on our faith, prayed and found comfort in the support around us.”
One moment stands out most: “A nurse encouraged me to hold him skin-to-skin while he was receiving treatment. That moment meant everything; it brought me comfort and helped me feel close to him.”
Now, nearly nine months later, Bryanna says motherhood has been filled with joy.
“My favorite part is waking him up in the morning,” she says with a smile. “He’s such a happy baby, and his smile makes my whole day. It reminds me that it’s all worth it.”
This Mother’s Day, Bryanna celebrates not just her journey into motherhood, but the care, compassion and support that helped her every step of the way. We also celebrate all mothers –those just beginning their journey and those who nurture and care for others every day.
